The blessing of friends
Last night Jenn and I were the only two at small group. I was kinda feeling out of it, so I wasn't talking much. Anyhow, I was talking about my messy room and getting organized, when Jenn looks at her watch. She then suggests we go to my house and start getting the junk weeded out.
Now, I actually tend to be organized (in my own weird way), but I also tend to collect, accumulate, and keep stuff I don't really need.
Enter Jenn.
Jenn is my antithesis. Opposite of me in many ways (except the important things!), which is cool cause we compliment each other and have each learned from the other.
So, she is helping me go through the process of clearing out the clutter and getting rid of the unneccessary things. I want to get more simplified in what I have and how I take care of my resources, but I am so stuck in my patterns, that even though I try hard, I still need that kick in the pants from God and from my friends. And now I can actually see my desk and (shockingly) use it for it's intended purpose.
Even though this is kind of a silly thing, in one respect, it is actually awesome. I mean, how many friends do you have that are willing to take time to sort through your stuff with you, and lovingly, sternly, help you let go of things you need to let go of, despite protests (even if they are half-hearted or otherwise)?
I am kind of in awe of Jenn. She definitely shows Christ to me in so many ways.
If you read this Jenn, THANKS!! Hopefully I will get to return the favor in some way :-)
