An interesting weekend...
...ok, not really.
It pretty muched worked all day Saturday and ran a few errands. Nothing spectacular. I did watch a movie with my family, though.
Secondhand Lions was not a particularly deep movie, but it was wonderful in it's childlike simplicity and heartwarming characters. It was like a classic children's book in style.
Sunday, since it was our last service at our current location and time, my church just had a brunch and spent the morning celebrating our community. It was really nice and relaxing and I was able to get to know some people I hadn't had a chance to talk to yet.
After church, I went home and just did whatever I felt like doing, rather than what I should. I really needed some time to just relax and have some Sabbath time. So I let my creative juices flow and worked on some scrapbook/art project stuff. In the evening, I went to go see In America at the suggestion of a friend. I couldn't remember the little I had heard about the movie, and my friend wouldn't tell me, but he told me I would like it (and he has good taste in movies), so I just went.
It was a wonderful film. I absolutely loved it. The family dynamic is portrays is wonderful, as well as the vast array of emotions. It is very well acted in my not-very-knowledgeable opinion. If you haven't seen it, you should. Cause I said so.
Oh, also, I don't do this very often, but i saw it by myself (well, besides all the strangers in the theater with me). It is very interesting to see a movie alone. I kinda enjoy it. Makes it kinda more like reading in a way. I am not as distracted, I guess, so I can let my thoughts and emotions go a little more.
